Positive Behaviour Support Model

At Rogers, we are on Year 2 of 3 of implementing the Positive Behaviour Support model. Our plan is to reduce the number of student behaviour incidences at our school by explicitly teaching students the school expectations.

Everything we do with the PBS model is based on our overarching belief: At Rogers, "We care about ourselves, each other and this place."

The staff at Rogers has developed a PBS Matrix (Click to link) that covers five key areas at school. The five keys areas are: assemblies, hallways, bathrooms, classrooms and the playground. Within each area there are explicit expectations for each of: ourselves, each other and this place.

During the first six weeks of school, until mid-October, each classroom will cover one area per week. The students in each class will be involved in lessons that align with each aspect.

When you visit Rogers, you will see the bulletin boards that display the work that the students and teachers have done with the belief and the behaviors.

We will continue to grow our Positive Behaviour Support as the year progresses.
